Our History

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Bridge was a product incubated in Medical Web Experts – a web development company that’s been working with top university health systems and hospitals since 2003. Born out of their clients’ necessity for a secure, HIPAA-compliant patient login portal, Bridge grew quickly as a leading patient portal vendor and became its own company in 2012. Bridge is a self-funded project, and an employee-owned company.

We undergo annual third-party HIPAA software and legal audits, in addition to oversight from our on-staff dedicated compliance officer.

With a long history in electronic health record software, mobile app development, and web development, our extensive experience enables us to deliver advanced solutions to today’s most complex patient portal implementations – including connecting disparate EHR environments with a single, EHR-agnostic platform.

Bridge’s Team

John Deutsch

John Deutsch
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

John is a seasoned executive with 18 years of healthcare IT business ownership
experience specializing in patient engagement, marketing, and software/web
development. He was the co-founder of EMR Experts, an EHR consulting firm,
which was sold to Bizmatics Inc in 2008. Since then, John has been the CEO of
Medical Web Experts, a leader in custom software/web development and
marketing for the healthcare industry. Bridge Patient Portal, an all-in-one
patient engagement solution, was spun-off from Medical Web Experts in 2012.
John now splits his time as CEO between both Medical Web Experts and Bridge
Patient Portal. He has successfully grown the organization to 40+ employees
and has positioned both companies as leaders in the patient engagement
industry. Besides his extensive experience in business and workforce
management, he also maintains strong technical knowledge in information
systems, IT security, compliance and healthcare.

Josh Orueta

Josh Orueta
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Josh was trained as an information technology technician at Penn Foster
College in Scottsdale, Arizona. He lived and worked in the United States for five
years before moving to Argentina where he gained the opportunity to work for a
major electronic medical records (EMR) company as an interface and help desk
director. During this career opportunity, he received valuable EMR training. He
also worked closely with major labs and practice management (PM) software
companies in the US before coming to Medical Web Experts in 2013 as the
product owner of Bridge Patient Portal. He is well versed in HL7 interfaces and
has managed the development of patient portal features that include meeting
Meaningful Use requirements for various EMR companies, including Bridge
Patient Portal. Josh works with Bridge Patient Portal’s team of talented
developers to better the product every day.

Kortney Orueta

Kortney Orueta
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Kortney studied business management at Oakland Community College in
Rochester Hills, Michigan. She joined our parent company, Medical Web
Experts, as the office manager in 2010, then became the director of HR &
administration in 2013, where she managed a team of four people and assisted
in the initial stages of forming Bridge Patient Portal, LLC. As her role became
much more financially focused in the following years, she moved into the CFO
role in 2017 and currently manages all finance-related initiatives for Bridge
Patient Portal. 

Pablo Bullian

Pablo Bullian
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Pablo manages Bridge’s IT security policies and HIPAA-compliant hosting
infrastructure. He is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions
Architect. He holds an M.S. in Information Systems Security and Information
Assurance from the University of Buenos Aires and is an associate professor
and active member of research groups at UNSAM University. His academic
research is centered around the security challenges that next-gen
communications technologies face. Pablo is also CCNA certified and has co-
authored research appearing in IEEE. He has a passion for applying the latest
technologies to combat cybersecurity threats.

Clement Baptiste

Clement Baptiste
Director of Marketing

Clement is a marketing professional whose experience spans digital marketing,
communications, and brand management for B2B & B2C tech, consumer goods,
higher education and medical devices. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration
from Cal State Los Angeles and an M.S. in Marketing & Business Analysis from the
University of Edinburgh. Aside from advancing healthtech, Clement is passionate
about emerging forms of human-computer interaction and developments in
biotechnology.

Blake Rodocker

Blake Rodocker
Business Development Manager

Blake studied business administration at Thompson Rivers University in
Kamloops, British Columbia, and completed a Health Information Curriculum
and Training for Transformation (HICATT) program and GCP sales certification.
He joined Bridge Patient Portal in 2016 after transferring from our parent
company Medical Web Experts. Blake is passionate about driving collaboration
with clients, partners, and internal teams to achieve performance goals and
successful relationships.

Michael McGinley

Michael McGinley
Director Of Strategic Accounts

Mike is an accomplished sales & management executive with many years of
experience in HIT sales, data analytics, and publishing. He has a B.A. in
Business as well as an M.S. in Information Systems with a concentration in
healthcare. Mike is also certified in management information systems. He joined
Bridge in early 2020 and possesses a true commitment to sales and service.
